Forest School

$200.00

Imagine a school without walls, where the classroom changes with the seasons and the lessons come wrapped in the songs of birds and the rustle of leaves. A traveling forest school takes education on the road—or rather, into the woods—inviting curious kids to learn beneath the canopy of towering trees and amidst the whispers of nature. Each day is an adventure filled with hands-on activities like identifying plants, tracking animals, and storytelling around a campfire. Here, the world is the textbook, and every trail leads to a new discovery, making learning as playful and dynamic as the forest itself. Ages 4-13.

South Carolina - August 3rd through October 21st 2026

Our enchanting 12-week journey unfolds beneath the live oak trees and along the whispering trails of St. Helena Island and Hunting Island State Park, where little explorers become nature’s apprentices. Each week bursts with wonder as children uncover the secret lives of plants and animals living in these spellbound forests, learning the language of leaves and the songs of birds. With paintbrushes dipped in sunlight and colors borrowed from petals and pinecones, they create magical art inspired by the wild world around them. On Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., young adventurers will also master the ancient, graceful art of rope tying, weaving knots that tell stories of sailors and settlers past. Some days, the classroom transforms into shimmering shores where the golden sun kisses the waves, inviting laughter and discovery on sandy beaches. This playful, hands-on voyage sparks curiosity and nurtures wonder, turning every day into a spellbinding lesson beneath the sky!

2 week travel break: October 22nd - November 8th 2026

North Carolina - November 9th 2026 through February 10th 2027

Up next, another exciting 12-week semester at Carolina Beach State Park and its beautiful surrounding waterways, including the mighty Cape Fear River! Join us every Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as we explore the fascinating world of riparian ecosystems. Riparian ecosystems are the magical zones lining rivers, streams, and lakes where water and land meet in a lively dance. These areas burst with life, providing homes for a dazzling array of animals — from darting dragonflies and playful otters to colorful songbirds and curious amphibians. Exploring near water is exciting, but water safety is key! We will learn to capture the magic through nature journaling and use natural materials like twigs, leaves, stones, and moss to build tiny fairy houses near the water’s edge. This playful activity invites imagination and a deeper appreciation for the environment. Riparian ecosystems are nature’s vibrant classrooms — a perfect place to learn, create, and stay safe while connecting with the wonders of life where water meets land!
